We met for the first time at a matching meeting between the former president (current president) and the development department head (current president) to discuss how Paccloa could support the company’s international expansion,
Ms. Ogawa asked us, “Are you prepared to make a lot of preparations in terms of people, goods, money, and time in order to achieve international expansion?
Looking at these words alone, many of you may be thinking, “??? Yes, we probably could,,”
However, I took those words and made up my own mind.
(There may be some misunderstandings, though.)
How I came to strongly consider international expansion
Indirect exports to international users increased.
Our main product, “custom-made blowers for plant facilities,” was growing steadily in terms of shipments.
In the past few years, more than half of our products have been exported indirectly to overseas users, and we have noticed an increase in the number of inquiries about our products, orders for equipment parts and renewal products, and inquiries and requests for on-site support services from overseas customers.

In 2009, we were selected and invited to “JTF2009 (Japan Technology Forum)” sponsored by GE (General Electric Company, USA) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where we met with GE, partner companies, and research institutions, and gave presentations.
The reception speech given by Mr. Jeffrey Immelt, then Chairman of the Board and CEO of GE, was a great inspiration for the company and strengthened its desire to expand its business internationally by utilizing its patented technology.

The acquisition of the patent and surrounding issues were resolved by creating opportunities to meet with international patent attorneys, international attorneys at law, and specialists, including second opinions, to resolve various issues related to the invention.

It was a very short time from the initial consultation in February 2019 to the MTG with the then company president (current chairman) in June 2019 and the final MTG in March 2022.
Under Ms. Ogawa’s guidance, we have been steadily advancing frame by frame to realize international expansion.
We have been able to overcome countless problems with her advice.
I don’t know how to proceed.

Even for a company of our size, we have customers not only in Japan but all over the world. We would like to expand our international business by shaping our efforts + α (past achievements, new technologies/products, and ideas) to gain new business opportunities.
The more I read over the MTG memos I made in the past, the more I think back to how Ms. Ogawa has been my “go-to” person for all kinds of things over the years. 💦.
We have a lot of stories to tell, but in our case, we have yet to release this initiative to the market, so I hope to be able to introduce a case study in a sequel.
